Make a charitable contribution to the Foundation

Supporting the Future of Nursing

The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania is organized and operated to support the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association’s efforts to enhance nursing and health care. The Foundation promotes charitable, educational, scientific and research ventures that promote health and welfare within the nursing community and Commonwealth.

Goals

    • Advance the educational and professional standards of nursing and nurses

    • Award grants and scholarships to individuals for study, instruction, research and scholarly pursuits in nursing

    • Award grants to public and private not-for-profit charitable, educational, literary or scientific organizations or institutions that support the Foundation mission.

Accomplishments

The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania has awarded nursing education scholarships and clinical nursing research grants; funded specialty programs sponsored by the PA SafeKids Coalition; and administered a state seat belt campaign. Additionally, the Foundation works in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars to award the annual Jack E. Barger, Sr. Memorial Scholarship to a nursing student in the state. The Foundation is proud of its accomplishments and would be unable to fund or support these programs without contributions and support from the nursing community and friends of the profession.

Our Future

As the Foundation begins its third decade, it will focus on continuing to promote the Foundation’s mission and support the future of the nursing profession. Our strategic plan advances the Foundation’s advocacy efforts on behalf of nursing and, ultimately, all residents of the Commonwealth. Fund raising is an essential element in this plan.
